Mark 13:37 “and what I say to you I say to all: STAY AWAKE!
In this world we get sung to sleep by the bias news, and this upside down crazy world we live in. The soft lullaby of sin singing to us to lure into that sweet temptation. Then we walk into church and get to snuggle up with warm worship that is all about us. We get to here sermons that put us further into sinful sleep deprivation with sermons focused on making us feel better. This endless circle that puts us to sleep reminds me of the Isrealites in the time of Judges. Sin rescue fall away then sin rescue fall away.
So our sin and this evil world have put us to sleep once again. Jesus said No!! Stay awake!! The time is near. I know it’s hard I know how we can become bitter at this world, and bitter towards the church. But we must stay awake. We must keep the oil in our lanterns (matthew 25:1-13).
But here I must warn you that keeping a watchful eye and looking for a way to escape this world (pre-trib) are two different things. Taking the bible and living by it or taking the bible and living from it are two different perspectives. You see we are to leave a legacy behind. That is the Gospel the good news. We must have a post-mill attitude (just like the world does) but keeping an eye for the pre-trib departure.
We must not fall asleep! When we fall asleep the world will take the next generation like it is trying to now. But maybe even worse then that is we might just miss the bride groom coming for His bride. Then what will we tell our kids?
I leave you with this.. If your kids depended on your faith to get into heaven. Would they make it?
